Chairperson Update - Autumn 2025
Reiki NZ Inc is thriving thanks to our dedicated board. We have recently successfully transitioned to a new database and website.
This is a big task for any organisation. As with any IT related project you only tend to hear when things aren't working as they should, so I would like to highlight the positives, namely that the transition was a very complex task which was expertly coordinated by Amanda Cowlrick with Sarah Deeks providing essential support.
Amiee Mortimer did a wonderful job of integrating the new accounting system just in time for membership renewals and continues her vital role overseeing RNZI's finances.
We welcome your suggestions for improving the website. An upgrade to the map finder is already underway and should be live by the time you read this, with more enhancements planned.
Sarah Deeks continues to expertly manage all the administrative and support tasks for Reiki NZ Inc as well as fielding all manner of correspondence with a high level of competency in her pivotal role as Secretary. She is undoubtedly a major asset to this board and RNZI and her wise counsel is always appreciated.
Membership renewals are progressing smoothly and we have recently merged the Membership and Database roles bringing them both under our Vice-Chair Amanda Cowlrick's leadership. It is the end of an era for Annette Hobby who has overseen the membership portfolio for the past few years. Annette has indicated that she will step down from the board at the AGM. She will be greatly missed. We thank her very much for her diligent and enthusiastic service over many years.
Two volunteers have joined Carina Hodzelmans to support Social Media and Products with Carina continuing to oversee both as she and her committee focus on planning the 2026 Reiki Conference. Angelika Klotz remains in charge of organising the October 2025 Reiki Masters' Gathering.
Nicola Lincoln and her committee have finalised the wording for the new Professional Development course requirements, aiming to offer voluntary certification for 'Accredited Reiki Professionals' (ARP), to be discussed at the AGM. We thank them for their dedication to this careful and important work.
Cath Lupton continues coordinating Regional Reps, onboarding new ones, compiling agendas, recording minutes and supporting the Reiki News editors.
The Insurance scheme has 22 members, with 51 more interested, prompting a second-phase review for all our members.
Brian Findsen is transforming the Reiki History Project interviews into articles for the Reiki News and the website. He and his wife Caterina also work hard behind the scenes editing our Reiki News along with Lori Satterthwaite, sub-editor, specialising in layout and graphics.
Guided by Reiki, this talented team and new technology promise exciting progress. Thank you for your support.
Regards
Simon Greig
