Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM in August. This format continues to serve us well offering more members the opportunity to participate and stay connected with the direction of Reiki NZ. 

I was very grateful to attend the annual Tauhara Reiki Retreat. It is no longer simply a place I go to, but a place I return to. Being there felt like stepping off the planet and into the company of my Reiki family. I was surrounded by wonderful people and held in an atmosphere that nourishes, nurtures and restores. It is easy to see how Reiki NZ grew from this environment and why Tauhara holds such a special place in the hearts of our members. I cannot recommend next year's retreat highly enough.

At the time of writing we have four Accredited Reiki Practitioners (ARPs). The first was Rob Munnik whose experience is featured in this issue of Reiki News. We hope his story encourages anyone considering ARP membership. Offering this pathway is a milestone for Reiki NZ.

We also recognise that many members may not be interested in this level of membership, and that is perfectly okay.

As a board we needed sustained focus to bring ARP to life, and at times it may have seemed like we were less concerned with our broader membership. We strive to meet the needs of our entire Reiki community whether professional or grassroots practitioners. We continue to look forward to new developments.

I have just got back from the biennial Reflections of Reiki Conference in Christchurch. Every aspect of the conference was amazing, and it was also a reflection of Carina and her team's efforts behind the scenes. All the feedback I received was extremely positive, with delegates feeling inspired, motivated and connected. Planning has already started for the conference in two years' time in Auckland and I suggest you note this as a future must.

This will be my last report as chairperson. I have been very grateful for the opportunity to have been chairperson of the board and I thank everyone for their support during that time.

I am pleased to announce that at the first meeting of the board after the AGM, Sarah Deeks has been elected as the new chairperson. Sarah has been a very dedicated, pivotal member of the board as Secretary, and she has been the glue that held the board together. I will remain on the board as vice-chairperson.

Reiki NZ is blessed with a dedicated, motivated and passionate board and I am confident that the future will be bright for Reiki NZ Inc.
