President’s Update

December 2024

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT

This is my first report as chairperson
and what a sense of responsibility
comes to mind Everything in my life has led me to this point
and it feels right. I have the utmost respect for
the previous chairpersons I know and have
known. Their commitment to Reiki has been
inspirational and I hope to continue the lineage.

I appreciate the support of the current
committee, and I am looking forward to working
with all of them. I have already witnessed the
experience and abilities creating a synergy when
working together. Some initiatives are nearing
completion and will benefit all members. I
recognise leadership is much like Reiki, it works
best when one is out of the road.

A special thank you to the conference organising
committee and all the members who attended.
The Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre
proved to be an excellent choice of venue for
the 2024 Reiki NZ Biennial Conference. The
speakers were impressive and informative.
There was much to learn from the insights from
the history of Reiki through to professional
interactions with hospitals today. I am
personally looking forward to trying Veda’s
techniques to expose the intelligence of water. I
have only heard positive reports, and the
conference was a great success.

The Board meet up monthly via zoom, and
they relished the opportunity to get together
in person before the conference. This was a
very productive strategic planning meeting. We
reflected on how meeting regularly via zoom
has provided opportunities to have
representation from all over the country. I am
the first chairperson to come from the South
Island. Even though we would love to meet
more regularly in person, the Board is aware
of the practical necessity to meet online.

On behalf of Reiki NZ, I hope you all have an
enjoyable holiday season, and may the New
Year bring you even more Reiki blessings than
you had this year.
